Get to Know Us
The Kapi'olani Community College TRiO program is a federally funded program designed to assist disadvantaged students in their academic trajectory toward graduation at Kapi'olani Community College and in the optional pursuit of advanced degrees. Our program serves low income, first-generation college students, and/or students with a documented disability. TRiO assists students to graduate and/or graduate and transfer to a baccalaureate educational institution.

About the TRiO Summer Bridge
The Kapi'olani Community College TRiO Summer Bridge is a free 8-week summer course during which students work to complete two college-level English courses, ENG100S (previously ENG098) and ENG100, and participate in various excursions. Cost of tuition and books is fully covered by the TRiO Program and we also offer free laptop rentals for our students. This is a great opportunity for all college students as ENG100 is a required class for all college majors. Classes are offered daily through an online format and students are expected to attend all classes as these are accelerated courses and can be very demanding. Upon successful completion of the Summer Bridge Program, students will walk away with 6 college level credits. Summer Bridge students have a variety of supports provided to them throughout the entire duration of the program including support from and through their professor, access to an embedded tutor as well as support through our TRiO Staff.
